In the process of gathering accessories for a client’s dining room, I discovered a couple of new vintage shops on Etsy. I thought I’d share them with you guys along with a few more of my favorites. Etsy is a great way to get your vintage fix without leaving the house! I love looking through Goodwill and consignment shops but there just isn’t enough time in the day, is there? If you don’t have a vintage market or large antique mall in your area, it can be exhausting and time consuming driving from place to place (to place to place.) Lucky for me, I’m going to the Country Living Fair in Nashville next week!!!! I’m so excited. I’m hoping to find some vintage brass accessories, a planter or two and some art, specifically vintage seascapes. Cross your fingers for me!
Kemble Richards is another recent find. Lots of chinoiserie and brass at very reasonable prices. I love these salt and pepper shakers.
And this pretty ceramic planter.
OK, this next shop was not in my favorites nor anywhere on my radar but when I stumbled on it, I immediately thought “What a cool idea!” The aptly named Photo Picker carries only vintage snapshots. Thousands of vintage snapshots. Broken down into categories like circus, glamour girls and military. This guy is, of course, in the animal section.
My boys love history and all things army and war so I’ve kind of grown to like WWI and WWII era stuff like vintage army soldiers and old recruiting posters. I think this photo is kind of cool.
I think both of these photos would be so cool in a kid’s room blown up to poster size. You could also just throw some quirky photos in a bowl or clip one in a photo holder.
I also like the idea of a framed series of these bird drawings. Only $5 each!
Any shops you’d recommend for vintage finds?
